The satellite dish itself must also be suitable for digital reception
Over 100 trillion e-mails whiz around the globe every year. No other means of communication can send information so cheaply, quickly and easily. And there is no other means of communication that is so easy to get into trouble with – if you don’t know a handful of rules. We tell you what you should pay attention to when sending e-mails.
Email Tips – Practical tips for all things electronic mail

Practical tips for everything to do with electronic mail
Use e-mail functions cleverly and quickly. to the video
Would you address a strange colleague at work with a snore head or shadow parker? Of course not. That he can laugh heartily about it is unlikely. Of course, everyone would like to prove their good childhood and therefore pays attention to polite wording in emails.
But friendly wording alone is no guarantee that the recipients will accept your message just as kindly. Whether an email falls into the “unfriendly” category often has little to do with the form of address and the greeting. There are some bad habits in e-mail that everyone should know. Otherwise, it is easy to unintentionally attract the wrath or at least ridicule of others.

Write specifically to the recipient
Most important rule: always pay close attention to what you are sending to whom. Adding a name to the recipient list – that’s quick. Some believe it is better to put one person too many on the recipient list than to forget someone. In fact, it takes time for every single recipient to pay attention to an email.
In the workplace, therefore, emails that are addressed to half the company, but apparently only affect individuals, are considered a bad habit. Most of the time it just happens out of thoughtlessness. A typical case in the office: A request is sent to a larger group of users, only a handful of recipients feel addressed. This then happily discusses the topic – and copies the entire original recipient list into the “CC” field each time. If it is unavoidable to write to a large mailing list, make it clear in the subject or at the beginning of the email who should feel addressed.
Time thieves and busy people
You don’t make a lot of friends with additions to the subject such as “Hurry!”, “Important!”, “Caution!”, Which are intended to emphasize the issue. Anyone who regularly dramatizes the subject line of their emails in this way is quickly considered busy people and raises doubts about their ability to recognize really important things.
Be careful with such formulations and save yourself this in the event that it actually burns. Even then, a short, not too penetrative tip is sufficient. In any case, it is helpful to formulate the subject and first line of the mail as clearly and unambiguously as possible so that the recipients do not turn away after a few seconds, shaking their heads.
You can almost certainly assume that this is the case if you tend to forward long mail exchanges to uninvolved people with no comments. Rather, it is better to reformulate your concerns and summarize the previous discussion in brief words, for example “Mr. X sees a problem with …, Mrs. Y suggests a solution …”. This will make it easier for your colleagues to get started and not waste their time. This can only benefit your concerns. (Writing emails: writing tips for successful emails)
Huge emails cause frustration
You should also observe a few rules in your private environment. Those who like to send digital photos will overwhelm some recipients with their megabyte load. Remember that not everyone has a fast internet connection. With some recipient accounts, the storage space is calculated so tight that in the worst case the e-mail does not even arrive.123helpme.me
Windows provides a convenient way of showing photo show how it’s done. On request, the photo can still be pushed in in its original size. However, there are now more intelligent methods for exchanging images, such as the t-online.de media center
Private email at work
Annoying colleagues is certainly not the best way to go. But by acting carelessly, you can also get serious consequences. Be especially careful when sending private email from your workplace. If your company does not allow private use of the Internet, the employer can use this against you. It doesn’t help much to subsequently delete the stumbling block from the sent and inbox folders.

Even if private mails are allowed: Pay special attention to the recipient list. Many companies have distribution lists for departments, for example. It is not always easy to see who exactly is behind it – in large companies sometimes entire branches of the company are scattered around the world. You should therefore always address personal emails personally.
USB sticks are ideal for keeping important data with you, always ready for use. They also offer a good alternative so that confidential data does not have to be stored on stationary computer systems. With their help, it is therefore possible to switch off points of attack for unauthorized data access. However, in order not to open new security holes at the same time, the security of USB sticks should be given special attention.
Password protection for USB sticks: Stick is stolen or lost
The handy format and the low weight of USB sticks are practical for transport and mobile use, but also makes it easy for thieves to insert them in an unobserved moment and move them away unobtrusively. No owner is immune to accidental loss either. In such a case, the loss of the stored data can be a serious problem. However, it is even more risky if confidential data falls into the wrong hands.
Password protection for USB sticks: encryption of mobile data carriers
Leading manufacturers such as Kingston and SanDisk offer USB sticks with certified hardware encryption. These use an AES key with a length of 256 bits and thus meet the highest security requirements. Most private users are likely to be deterred by their high price. Encryption with suitable software is much cheaper. The freeware program TrueCrypt is often recommended in consumer tests. The Challenger program is also free for private use, but its full commercial version is more convenient and safer.
Password protection for USB sticks: Absolute security through password protection for USB sticks?
Encryption of USB sticks according to the highest security standards does not offer absolute security either. This is shown by a case that made headlines in January 2010. At that time, several manufacturers had to recall USB sticks whose hardware encryption was certified according to level 2 of the FIPS 140-2 standard. This certification allows its use for the storage of confidential data in US authorities. The encryption itself had passed all security tests without any complaints. However, a serious security gap in the transmission of the password to the stick made it possible to read out the stored data with comparatively little effort, even without knowing the correct password.

With a budget book in Excel, you can record all income and expenses during a certain period of time. Used correctly, such a list will help you to have a better overview of your finances.
Budget book in Excel: General
To keep an Excel budget book, enter all income and expenses in the worksheets provided in the spreadsheet program. Recurring payments in the same amount, such as your salary, insurance and rent payments, are taken from the relevant documents or your bank statements.
You can either record current expenses, for example for groceries, immediately or collect the receipts and receipts and only enter them into your budget book at the end of the week or month. Excel templates especially for household books, which you can download from the Internet, prove to be very useful. For example, the magazine “Computer Bild” offers the extensive template “Spartipp Budget Book” as a free download on its homepage, with which you can not only create a monthly and annual overview, but also enter daily expenses in the corresponding date field.
Establishment of an Excel budget book
If you would like to keep a budget book in Excel, either use an Excel template from the Internet or set up a corresponding Excel table yourself with just a few clicks. To do this, enter the individual months of the year in the top line of the table, but leave the first field blank. In the first column (far left) you then enter categories for your income and expenses – this brings clarity and makes it easier to compare the individual months.
Regularly recurring income and expenses, such as in the categories of salary, child benefit, rent, ancillary costs and insurance, can be quickly transferred to all relevant monthly fields using the copy-and-paste function. You only have to re-enter them if you make changes. For variable expenses, categories such as “groceries”, “clothes” and “shoes”, “hygiene and personal care” or “going out” are recommended. It is best to collect the expenses for this over a month and enter the numbers in the appropriate fields at the end of the month.
With the help of the Excel sum function, you can add up your income to a total amount, as well as your expenses – keep two lines free under your table. Finally, in the last line, you subtract the total amount of expenses from the total amount of income and thus get your monthly balance sheet.
Use of a household book
The consumer center Hamburg advises you to keep a budget book in order to see how high your expenses are for individual items and thus to find possible savings. Compare your expenses regularly over the last few months and also draw parallels to the corresponding months in the previous year. This gives you a clear balance sheet for the current year and the previous year, from which you can draw conclusions about any savings that may be necessary.
Complex Excel templates also offer you automatic evaluations of your data in the form of bar or pie charts, giving you a simple overview of your finances.
From May 2012, millions of viewers will be left without television reception – if they do not switch to digital reception. Because then the analog satellite signal is switched off. Almost three million households are not yet equipped for digital reception, says the satellite operator Astra. However, upgrading does not always mean having to buy everything new. Sometimes a small change to the satellite antenna is enough.
2.9 million households still receive analogue satellite television – with some of the systems being very outdated. If you do not replace the satellite dish and the receiver, you will be sitting in front of a television without reception after April 30, 2012. Satellite systems that are more recent than ten years can be partially converted or are already ready to receive digital signals. Switching to digital reception is therefore recommended now rather than later. So it is possible that there will be supply bottlenecks the closer the time of the analog switch-off approaches. Some receivers that are particularly popular could then be out of stock. If you do not know exactly whether you are still receiving analogue or digital satellite signals, you should check this in good time. The DVB logo on the receiver on the television is a sure sign that it is a digital receiver. If in doubt, a specialist workshop can clarify whether the antenna is also digital. One indication is the variety of programs: around 35 channels come into the house with the analog signal. If there are significantly more transmitters, the receiving system is already digital.
The receiving unit must be able to understand digital signals
The receiving unit at the end of the antenna arm, the so-called Low Noise Block Converter (LNB), is important for converting to digital reception. If this is able to process frequencies up to 12.75 gigahertz, it can also receive the digital channels. Outdated LNBs are usually only rated from 10.7 to 11.7 gigahertz, in some cases the frequency range is noted on the device itself. The satellite dish itself must also be suitable for digital reception. If it is smaller than 60 centimeters in diameter, it must also be replaced. Otherwise picture dropouts could occur because the signal can no longer be bundled strong enough for digital transmission. A bowl where the paint is already peeling off can no longer be used for digital reception either.
Digital receiver is mandatory
Anyone who has previously only received analog satellite TV will probably have to replace their receiver with a digital one. A distinction must be made between SD and HD quality: The cheapest digital receivers (DVB-S) from around 30 euros can only process digital signals in SD quality. This is absolutely sufficient for a tube TV, but not for a modern flat screen TV. A receiver that can receive HDTV must support the DVB-S2 standard and is a bit more expensive. The extra expense should definitely be worth it. When buying a new television, it is advisable to make sure that it already has a built-in HD satellite receiver. This not only saves the purchase of an external receiver, but later there is also one remote control less on the living room table.
Cable providers are not switching off for the time being
It is also necessary to switch off analog signals in order to use the freed frequencies for new purposes.
